- No experience needed – only requirement is that you be at least 18 years old.
- We’re growing! Covey has TWO adult family homes - NEWLY CONSTRUCTED HOMES - opening within the next 6 months that we are hiring for NOW!
- We’re always looking for different ways to support our employees and to come up with unique and impactful benefits. For example, we will be starting FREE financial literacy classes in November. By completing the training and agreeing to put in just $10/month for the first 6 months, the employee will earn up to $200 for those emergencies in life that just happen. Yep, $200 for a monthly $10 investment from you and for you!
- Our 1:5 Caregiver to participant ratio means you will be able to truly know your participants/residents and that you won’t need to be frustrated by call lights pulling you from room to room. In fact, we don’t even have call lights!
- Covey is VERY Mission and Values focused – we are NOT the employer that hangs their Mission on the wall for you to read and then you never see or hear about it again. We VERY regularly (like at the beginning of every staffing meeting on Tuesdays and Thursdays AND at the beginning of ALL team meetings) share Mission and Values – based stories about the amazing work you do! We share them and we record them so we never forget how amazing our participants, residents, families and employees are.
- Frustrated that you can’t reach your supervisor? Well, chances are you’ll be working side by side with them in the next couple of shifts, so you’ll see them soon (but feel to email, text or call them)!
- Did you say you needed supplies for an activity you want to try out? OK…just give us the list of supplies needed and we’ll work together to make it happen!
- We EXPECT mistakes. We’re all HUMAN. Humans…make…mistakes. Just own that mistake and tell your supervisor. We want to know so we can find out what we need to do/what we need to change TOGETHER to make sure NOONE needs to be frustrated by making that same mistake! Also, it may not be your fault! The important part to remember is that at Covey, the first thing we’ll do after fixing a mistake is to find out why it occurred – we will definitely be more concerned about why the mistake was made and not about how quickly we can write someone up (or worse).
- LOVE to chat? We have people who love to listen.
- It’s a very hard job.
- You will need to work every other weekend.
- You will help people who truly need your help and you’ll be “in the front seat” to see their growth.
- Assistance with personal cares (showering, toileting, eating, dressing, medication administration, etc.) are part of your job duties.
- All Covey employees are required to treat everyone with RESPECT – participants, residents, guardians, families, co-workers – everyone.
- Must have an imagination that you like using every day.
- The rewards will be never-ending. This job will change you.
